The motion picture 'Network', released in 1976, is an icon of popular culture.

I hope you can forgive my lacklustre impersonation of the central character Howard Beale. In this blog I aim to try and be worthy in perpetuating his sentiments.

Scripted by Paddy Chayefsky, the only writer to have won three solo Academy Awards for Best Screenplay, 'Network' captures the popular mood of the time and sends up the culture of TV news. But it delivers more than simple satire by exploring the symbiotic relationship between television and the public .
